APPRECEATION LETTER FROM A RESIDENT |
||
|
Dear Sir/Madam, A long‑standing issue of fly‑tipping in the Trehearn Road, IG6 area was brought to my attention, where residents had been suffering and significantly affected for some time. I prioritised the matter immediately and made enquiries with all the relevant departments. Through joint working and persistence, the issue was successfully resolved. The residents expressed how impressed and pleased they were with the outcome. I was later surprised and extremely grateful to learn that a resident had sent a letter of appreciation to my Inspector regarding my involvement. Inspector Sutton subsequently spoke to me personally and praised my dedication and commitment. I am very pleased to have been able to support the community and help residents live safely, happily, and in peace. Moments like this reinforce why community engagement and partnership working are so important. Please see the letter below. Kind regards,
Great work Naz!
Thank you for providing a great service to our community. Lovely to see emails like this come in.
Thank you for all you do.
Nick

For the attention of Sergeant Kamini Howes and Inspector Nick J Sutton
Dear Sergeant Howes and Inspector Sutton,
We are writing this email to let you know what a brilliant officer PCSO Naz Toofail (7113EA) is. She has been so helpful to us and the other residents in my neighbourhood.
We are members of the Fairlop SNT Ward Panel, and long-term residents of Trehearn Road, Hainault. Over the 38 years that we have lived here, we have suffered from regular ASB, drug dealing, prostitution and fly tipping in the alleyways at the rear of Trehearn, Trelawney, Saltash and New North Roads. Unfortunately over the past couple of years the situation has become much worse, especially the fly tipping, which is now so bad the residents cannot open their garage doors or drive their vehicles along the alleyways.
Over the years the Council have always refused to clear the fly tipping, as they say the alleyway is privately owned, and the landowner must clear it, even though extensive Land Registry searches have revealed there has been no registered landowner since 1936. Also, the previous SNT officers never managed to help re these problems, saying they were always too busy with more urgent matters.
I went to the last Fairlop SNT Ward Panel meeting on 30 March 2026 and met PCSO Naz for the first time. I must say we were so pleasantly surprised at how helpful and knowledgeable she was regarding all the problems we discussed. Naz promised to help and indeed she emailed the various section heads in Redbridge Council. A couple of days later I met Naz in the alleyway and showed her the dumped car, gearboxes, washing machines, cookers, beds, rubble etc, and she immediately phoned someone in the Council.
Amazingly, within just a few days, the Council had visited with a truck and crew and cleared the majority of the fly tipping. Wonderful!
Over the years, myself, other residents and our Councillors have emailed the Council very many times, but nothing was ever done. So you can imagine how pleased we are that Naz has succeeded in getting action for us at last.
Naz really is a great asset to the Met Police and certainly to the Fairlop SNT. Please keep her in this team. She is very helpful and approachable, and has done more for us in just a few weeks than anyone else has ever done. Also, we must also mention PC Luke Stevens, who is another very helpful and approachable officer.
Best regards,
Graham Aindow and Stephanie Allpress
