Safer Neighbourhood Team Activity Update

  Earlier this month, our Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out two proactive operations to improve safety, tackle anti-social behaviour, and support the local community.

  14 April – Day of Action  Charing Cross Road
A joint operation focused on visible patrols, engagement, and addressing issues affecting residents, workers, and visitors in the area.

  15 April – Cycle Enforcement  Leicester Square, Chinatown and surrounding areas
A targeted enforcement operation focusing on illegal cycling, public safety, and wider anti-social behaviour concerns across busy public spaces.

  Across both operations we achieved positive results, including:
• Multiple enforcement actions taken for cycling offences
• Warnings issued where appropriate
• Engagement with members of the street population
• Checks carried out relating to vehicles and individuals
• Strong reassurance patrols and community engagement with businesses, security staff, residents and visitors
• Action identified for further offences and follow-up work

A big thank you to all partner agencies involved, including local authority teams, community safety partners, business representatives, security teams, and everyone who supported these deployments.
