Hello Resident, I hope you are doing well. It’s PCSO Priest here with the weekly Neighbourhood update. 

What has our team been doing?

 Officers of the Bartley Green Neighbourhood team have attended Milebrook Hall for the Bartley Green Police And Communities Together meeting. It was great to see so many people attend the meeting as this allows us to speak to residents about any concerns they may have, such as the off-rode bikers that are going around, as well as hot spots where cars like to speed. All this information helps us be able to create a strategy/plan in how to tackle the issue, so all reports are much appreciated.

Officers of the Bartley Green Neighbourhood team have taken two vehicles what were stolen and have been abandoned around the Bartley Green area. Helping to clear up the mess left by the offenders who stole the car and not allowing them to return to the car and use it for any more offences. As well as the original owners being called and informed that their car has been found and recovered by West Midlands Police, allowing them to get their car back.

What’s been occurring in Bartley Green

Since the last WMNOW message, we have received six thefts of a motor vehicle within the area of Bartley Green. We advise you to take out any valuables such as your wallets or bags etc, to limit the amount of lost property you may lose. We strongly advise you to install extra security measures such as a Disk Lock or a Gear stick & Handbrake Locks as these will make it harder for a suspect to drive off in your car without difficulty.

Since the last WMNOW message, we have received five reports of car doors being tried around Bartley Green. We advise you to install CCTV cameras as this helps us to potential get the face of the suspect who is trying to get in your vehicle. We also advise you to double check that your vehicle is locked and that any valuables are taken out of the vehicle to limit the loss.

Additional Information

We regularly deal with drivers who obstruct the footpath leaving no room for people to get past, as well as cars parking in a way where it obstructs your view of the road. But the issue we have is that we are not always there to tackle and deal with these issues in person. This helps us solves crimes but also helps to keep your community safer.
