To Neighbourhood watch Participants in Lambeth

We have previously sent messages to all participants asking for replies from those willing to work with parents, schools, sports and youth groups. police and council to organise youth engagement programmes for launch after the exam season. These were not relevant to many of you.
This is to ask you to go into your membership record and tick “Young People - Neighbourhood Watch Helpers” and/or “Students” to receive future invitations to help with forward plans and/or receive to targeted invitations regarding Youth Engagement Programmes (from sports activities and safe study clubs through travel safety and safe havens, to careers activities and work placement). The NHW joining age is 13 and co-ordinators can be as young as 16, provided they have a parent/guardian as escort for safeguarding purposes. Alternatively reply to this e-mail or e-mail development@lambethnhw.co.uk with a note of your interests.
The other objective of this post is to ask for responses from those already organising relevant programme and looking for support or bookings for programmes already in train. = = = For example: Orange Bow is offering 6 Week Paid Work Placements this Summer - apply by 1st May (there is support to travel to those outside Lambeth) Are you 16-20 years old and looking for a summer job to gain valuable work experience, earn some extra income, or simply develop new skills? Or do you know a young person who is looking for work this summer?
Recruitment is now open for the Orange Bow UK Youth Summer Jobs Programme 2026!
This is designed to connect motivated young individuals with work placements across different sectors, including retail, childcare, hospitality, marketing, administration and many more. No previous experience required just the willingness to take part. Through this programme, participants will not only earn a competitive wage but also gain first-hand experience that will benefit their future careers.
The program will run for 6 weeks from the last week in July until the first week in September.
Eligibility Criteria:
· Six- week initiative for young people aged 16-20 (On 1st September 2026) · Right to work in the UK · Able to take part in 25 hours of work each week for a total of 6 weeks · Not currently employed for more than 15hrs per week · Living in one of the areas that the programme is delivered in (Greenwich, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Islington, Camden, Westminster, Lewisham, Southwark, Lambeth, Croydon, Kensington, Hammersmith, Wandsworth, Ealing) and not planning to move out. · Proficiency in English · Not currently charged with a serious offence · Not studying towards a degree
This program is funded to support vulnerable or marginalised young people and there are specific additional eligibility requirements such as being in contact with Youth Offending Teams, a social worker, at risk of criminal exploitation, or previously been in care. You will find a table with the full eligibility criteria attached to this email.
