Highgate Traffic Enforcement Operation 24/04/2026

Dear Highgate Residents,

I hope you are all keeping well.

You may have seen us out on patrol recently. I wanted to update you on a targeted operation carried out by the Highgate Safer Neighbourhoods Team in response to growing concerns about traffic offences within the ward.

Highgate Local Police Team: Police Sergeant Worger, Acting Police Sergeant Alves, PC Amado, PC Hammer-Bailey and PCSO Demircan were supported by colleagues from Hampstead Town, Kentish Town and Frognal SNT. Officers were deployed in high‑visibility uniform on Dartmouth Park Hill, NW5, using a speed gun to identify speeding vehicles. The increased presence had a strong deterrent effect and helped us address the issue directly.

During the operation, officers stopped two vehicles under Section 163 of the Road Traffic Act. Further checks led to one arrest and vehicle seizure for possession of suspected Class A drugs, possession of an offensive weapon, and handling stolen goods. 

We want to thank all residents — including many of you — who have raised these concerns at panel meetings and community events. Your input directly shapes our priorities, and operations like this are a result of that partnership.
