Wild grass fires

Dear resident

We are seeing an increased risk of grass fires right now due to dry conditions. Even a small spark can spread quickly and put people, wildlife and property at risk.

Please help prevent fires by:

Not lighting campfires or BBQs in open grass areas

Disposing of cigarettes responsibly - never drop them on the ground

Taking all litter home, especially glass bottles which can start fires in sunlight

If you spot a fire:

Move to a safe location immediately

call emergency services (999) and provide clear details of the location

Grass fires can spread rapidly and change direction without warning. Stay alert and help protect your community.
