Community Safety Update: Operation Lido |
||
|
Dear residents,
Yesterday evening, officers carried out Operation Lido, a proactive policing initiative in response to rising gang tensions in the Woolwich Dockyard area.
As part of the operation, a range of tactics were used, including unmarked vehicles, plane clothed foot patrols, unmarked bicycles and marked police vehicles. These measures were also in place to support the vigil held for Eghosa Ogbebor, who was tragically fatally wounded on 2nd April.
We are pleased to report that the vigil passed peacefully, with positive engagement between officers and members of the community.
During the operation, one individual was arrested, charged and remanded for possession of an offensive weapon (zombie knife).
Operation Outcomes: Operation Lido remains part of ongoing efforts to address gang related concerns and maintain community safety in the area.
kind regards,
PCSO Laura Rapley
