Smart Alert: Car Key Burglaries

We are warning residents about car key burglaries, where offenders break into homes specifically to steal vehicle keys and take cars from driveways.

Please help protect your vehicle by:

• Keeping keys away from doors, windows and letterboxes
• Using a Faraday pouch for keyless entry fobs
• Locking doors, windows, gates and garages
• Fitting a steering wheel lock or driveway bollard
• Leaving outside lights or CCTV/Ring doorbells active
• Reporting suspicious activity immediately

Never leave keys on hallway tables, kitchen worktops or visible hooks.

If you see anyone acting suspiciously around homes, driveways or vehicles, call 999 in an emergency or report online/101 for non-emergencies.
