Your Local Ward Priorities – Keeping Hayes Safe Together Keeping Hayes Town safe is a shared responsibility. Your local police team, council partners and community organisations continue to work closely with residents, businesses and visitors to prevent crime, reduce anti‑social behaviour and improve safety across the ward. Following the most recent Ward Panel Meeting, the new ward priorities for Hayes Town are: Below is an overview of these priorities, what is being done locally, and how you can help. Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)Violence Against Women and Girls remains a key priority for Hayes Town. This includes harassment, stalking, domestic abuse and any behaviour that causes women and girls to feel unsafe in public or private spaces. Local officers and PCSOs are carrying out high‑visibility patrols, engagement events and reassurance visits, particularly in areas where concerns have been raised. The police are also working closely with council services and specialist support organisations to ensure victims can access help quickly and confidentially. How you can help: In an emergency, always call 999. Non‑urgent concerns can be reported via 101 or online. Anti‑Social Behaviour: Street Drinking and Drug UseResidents have raised concerns about street drinking, drug use and related behaviour affecting public spaces and residential areas in Hayes Town. The local policing team is taking action through targeted patrols, problem‑solving with council partners, and enforcement where necessary. This work focuses on reducing nuisance behaviour, improving safety and ensuring public spaces are welcoming for everyone. How you can help: Early reporting supports quicker and more effective action. Electrically Propelled Vehicles (E‑Bikes and E‑Scooters)There has been an increase in concerns about the unsafe and illegal use of e‑bikes and e‑scooters, particularly on pavements and in pedestrian areas. Officers are engaging with riders, carrying out enforcement activity, and providing education about the law. Action is taken where vehicles are used dangerously or pose a risk to pedestrians.
