Officers were recently dispatched following a reports of an untaxed vehicle on the public highway. Upon arrival, checks confirmed the vehicle had no tax and was notified off-road – so it was promptly seized.

Shortly after, the owner of the vehicle arrived on scene to speak with officers in another vehicle. Unfortunately for them, checks revealed that this second vehicle also had no tax, so this was also seized.

A quick reminder – If a vehicle is used or parked on a public highway, it must be taxed. If it is kept off the road on private land, it needs to be officially declared as SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification). Save yourself the inconvenience, and make sure your vehicle is appropriately taxed or SORN.
