Local Priorities Cycle Theft Message

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding cycle theft, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

Over the past week we have seen a number of Cycle Thefts in the Heston Area although most of these are from covered Car Parks and the bikes are left in the cycle cases and are not locked up with chains or any securing devices. Due to this we will be carrying out more patrols around these areas that have covered car parking areas and the Cycle Storage Areas. We have found when speaking to people they believe their bikes are secure and safe in the Under Cover Car Parks and the Cycle Cages and that is why they do not buy locks or any securing devices. We would like to remind people that due to these bike Cages are in covered car parks they can be broken or forced into during the night due to it being out of sight of the Public so secure your Bikes and Mark them up.
