Dear Resident,
The Leigh Town Centre Policing Team has been out this weekend working alongside members of REACH, Wigan Council’s team dedicated to engaging with young people in areas experiencing anti-social behaviour.
As many of you will be aware, Leigh Town Centre has seen a significant amount of anti-social behaviour in recent months. While there has been a slight reduction in recent weeks, this is not a time for complacency. Greater Manchester Police and Wigan Council will continue to give the area the attention it needs until anti-social behaviour is reduced to an acceptable level.
If your children have previously attended Leigh Town Centre and, as responsible parents, you have advised them against doing so, I would like to thank you. As we have said before, our aim is not to criminalise young people, nor to stop them having fun. However, when that fun negatively affects others, it ceases to be acceptable.
Thank you for your continued support.
P.S. Enjoy the good weather while it lasts! ☀️ | ||
