On Thursday, officers patrolled the Valley alongside Chief Superintendent Kirby, during which they arrested a male for driving under the influence, he individual blew 135 which is nearly four times the legal limit. Later that evening, the team attended an event at Hope Sports Club to support Hope Heartbeat's Defibrillator and First Aid training class. While at the event, officers had to break away and responded to a report of males fighting involving two males in Castleton. Although the offender left the scene in a vehicle prior to the officers' arrival, he was subsequently apprehended in Chapel following a foot chase by response officers. On Friday, we visited Peak Forest Primary School to engage with students on various topics, with a particular focus on road safety, the children were highly interactive during the session. Later, we conducted speed enforcement checks on Buxton Road in Castleton, during which no drivers were found to be exceeding the speed limit. Today, we have been out since first thing where our efforts have been dedicated to managing the significant influx of visitors and the associated parking challenges in popular areas such as Mam Tor, Barber Booth, and Ladybower. Additionally, we have worked with the Peak Park Rangers, staff from Severn Trent and various landowners to install Public Space Protection Order signs for wildfire prevention. This initiative aims to ensure that visitors are well-informed and contribute to the safeguarding of these natural areas.
