🚫 Off‑Road Bikes in the Bardon Beat Area 🚫

We’ve had a number of reports about the use of off‑road bikes and similar vehicles in the Bardon Beat area. While we understand these bikes can be enjoyable when used lawfully, riding them in public spaces can have serious consequences.

🔹 What’s the issue?
Off‑road bikes are not permitted to be used on public roads, footpaths, parks or open land unless specific legal requirements are met. This includes being road‑legal, insured, taxed and ridden by a licensed rider.

🔹 Why it matters
Illegal riding puts pedestrians, residents and other road users at risk, causes noise nuisance, damages green spaces and can be intimidating for the local community.

🔹 Legal ramifications
Using off‑road vehicles illegally may lead to:
• Vehicle seizure
• Penalty points, fines or prosecution
• Action under Section 59 Police Reform Act for anti‑social use of vehicles
• Further consequences if linked to other offences

✅ Ride responsibly
Off‑road bikes should only be used on private land with the landowner’s permission or at authorised motocross tracks.
