My name is PCSO 44 Hill and I am writing to provide you an update of my patrol plan and engagement work that I have carried out in my ward area of Tong. This week, I have focused on addressing local concerns, maintaining a visible presence and worked to support the community. Held a street surgery on Hambledon Avenue, Bierley where members of the public could speak with us about issues they have within their community. Also present was a representative from the council. Issues and locations were discussed regarding fly tipping within the Holmewood and Bierley areas which the council are going to investigate. Abandoned land was also discussed and will be investigated. Fly tipping locations and abandoned buildings audited including locations on St Margaret's Avenue Rec / Tennis Avenue, Holme Lane and the Holmewood Social Club. A primary school in the area was visited where myself and PCSO Littlewood engaged with reception aged children. Children had the chance to ask us questions, go and look inside the police van and got the opportunity to try on mini police uniform. More importantly, the children were taught about stranger danger and how the police help. A second primary school was visited within the Holmewood Estate, where children from year 3,4,5 and 6 attended a presentation regarding protected characteristics and hate crime. Additional patrols paid to Top Shops, Broadstone Way in regards to nuisance bikes and anti-social youths. Following an investigation into these matters, further action is going to be taken amongst those involved and additional patrols will continue to make the shops a safe place for residents. Tong Village patrolled regarding speeding vehicles and the restricted use of HGV's. Tong ward's next street surgery will take place on Wednesday 13th May at 10:00hrs. The location will be Darren St/Dudley St, Sutton Estate. This is an opportunity for you to speak with local PCSO's and PC's, alongside partner agencies, about any issues or concerns you may have within your area. Patrols will be continued in line with ongoing ward priorities. If you have any concerns or information you would like to share, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Kind Regards, PCSO 44 Hill |
