Community meeting with SPLAOCH, and VAWG talk.

Good morning,

On the 21st of April 2026 your local Abbey Ward officers attended a community meeting between the hours of 1200 and 1600 at John Smith House, Barking where community members and local councillors such as Dominic Twomey attended a SPLOACH (Single parents living with asthma & other complex health) meeting to speak about their lives and the challenges they have overcome and to offer support to others.

PCSO Welham, Pocknell and Dijokaite of Abbey ward spoke to the local community about VAWG related issues and how to remain safe in the area, while also listening to local members of the community's issues regarding VAWG and ASB issues. 

Met engage was also offered and was given a very positive response whilst we were there.
