Witness appeal following serious assault in Bournemouth

Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a serious assault in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police received a report at 12.30am on Tuesday 28 April 2026 that a man had been assaulted outside Barbara’s Bier Haus in Old Christchurch Road.

The 19-year-old victim has been taken to hospital for treatment. He remains in a critical condition and his family has been informed.

Detective Inspector Ian Allen, of Dorset Police, said: “A detailed investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances of what happened and we are reviewing all available CCTV.

“I understand there were a number of people in the area and I would ask anyone who saw what happened, or may have captured any relevant footage, to please get in touch.

“Fast-time enquiries are underway to locate those involved and a cordon has been put in place while an examination of the scene is carried out.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area while enquiries are conducted and we would approach anyone with information or concerns to please speak with an officer.”
