Theft from Motor Vehicle Astonbury Manor

Dear Resident

Between 10pm on Monday 27th April and 0645am on Tuesday 28th April a theft from a vehicle occurred at Astonbury Manor, Aston

Two vehicles have been targeted within the car park at Astonbury Manor. It is not known whether the vehicles were accidentally left unlocked as there hasn't been any damage caused to either vehicle. Contents have been removed and thrown on the floor. Items have also been taken including 2 electric scooters, a handbag, a laptop and passport

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Remove your satnav and holder and wipe away suction marks which could indicate that a satnav is stored in your vehicle.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them lying around, visible or in pockets in changing rooms where they could be taken. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers and steering wheel locks.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.

Secure number plates with anti-theft screws.
