Slough Joint Local Health & Wellbeing Strategy 2026–2036 launches |
||
|
The Slough Joint Local Health & Wellbeing Strategy 2026–2036 lays out a 10-year plan to make Slough a healthier place for everyone. Created with input from residents, partners, and local organisations, the strategy aims to address long-standing health inequalities, strengthen prevention at every stage of life, and design services that meet the needs of Slough’s diverse communities. It also acknowledges many people in Slough experience shorter, less healthy lives, which can be changed through collective action. The strategy is built on three main pillars: People at the Centre, Prevention, and Growing Our Health & Wellbeing System with Slough in Mind. It aims to tackle inequalities, amplify community voices, and make sure services are culturally responsive. These pillars guide actions across Start Well, Live Well, Age Well, and Healthy Place. By focusing on prevention, the strategy supports early intervention, healthy environments, and timely support. Everyone across the system is working together to design services that reflect Slough’s diversity, priorities, and goals. Over the next 10 years, this approach aims to build a healthier, more resilient Slough where everyone can thrive. Cllr Dexter Smith, chair of the HWBB board and leader of the council, said: “Slough requires a 10-year health and wellbeing strategy, as longstanding poor health outcomes will need sustained, coordinated action to be adequately addressed. While we have a clear vision, progress will take time. “Wellbeing reflects a range of factors that influence how we feel and how our environment supports our mental and physical health. We are starting to see positive changes in Slough. This strategy, co-produced by the council, health professionals, and local stakeholders, builds on early successes and demonstrates that improvement is possible.” You can view the strategy here: Slough Health and Wellbeing Board – Slough Borough Council
