Atherstone Town Centre - Closure Order to Town Centre Store

After persistent complaints from local residents in Atherstone Town Centre and the store being linked to the sale of counterfeit products a store is set to close down at the end of May. 

Working with the landlord and partner agencies the initial stages of a closure order was implemented within the past few days. 

This would mean the store would be forced to close for a prolonged period of time and unable to trade. 

The store has now "voluntary" decided to hand in their tenancy. 

If found to be involved in any fraudulent sales or criminality from now until the date they leave the tenant will be fined £5000. 

The landlord will be appropriately vetting the potential new tenants. 

If issues do arise then we will be taking immediate formal further action that will seriously effect the landlord and tenant.

We will not tolerate the town centre to be linked to criminality.
