DearResident,
We wanted to provide you with an update — and some good news — following the email sent by the team on 20/01/26, regarding an offender who was arrested for several offences, including vehicle‑related crime on the Hartshead estate.
After issuing an appeal via Bee in the Loop, the Hurst PCSOs received several vital pieces of CCTV footage from residents. This enabled the team to trace the offender’s movements and identify additional crimes linked to him. The individual was also responsible for various other offences across Tameside.
On Wednesday 29th April 2026, Callum DANIELS (DOB 14/10/1988), of no fixed abode, was sentenced to five years in prison at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court. DANIELS pleaded guilty to 19 offences committed over a four‑week period between December 2025 and January 2026 in Ashton‑under‑Lyne and Audenshaw.
The team would like to thank all residents who responded to the appeal and provided CCTV. This result demonstrates the impact that strong community support and close partnership with the Police can achieve
