Keeping Your Home Safe While you're on Holiday.

Dear Residents, 

As many people prepare to go on holiday and enjoy a well earned break, we are  reminding residents to take a few simple steps to help protect their homes while they are away. 

Before you leave, please make sure your property looks occupied. Use timer switches on lights, ask a trusted neighbour or friend to keep an eye on your home , and consider having them collect your post so it doesn't build up.

Ensure all doors and windows are securely locked, including garages and sheds. Avoid sharing your holiday plans publicly on social media until after you return, as this can alert potential burglars that your home is empty.

If you have a alarm system, make sure it is set and working correctly. Consider Ring door bells.

Outdoor lightning, especially motion activated lights, can also act as a deterrent.

Finally , keep valuables out of sight and consider marking property or recording serial numbers where possible. 

By taking these simple precautions, you can reduce the risk of burglary and enjoy your holiday with a greater peace of mind.
