👮‍♀️ Charity Collections – Advice to the Public 👮‍♂️

Local beat officers and Neighbourhood Task Force PCSOs were recently patrolling Tenterden when we were alerted by members of the public to a group approaching people for cash donations, claiming to be collecting money for veterans.

Further enquiries were carried out in partnership with Licensing at Ashford Borough Council. It was established that the group did not have permission to collect money, and they were not operating as a legitimate charity.

We would like to remind residents to be cautious when approached by individuals asking for cash donations on the street. Genuine charities will be able to clearly prove who they are and will have the appropriate permissions in place.
