Here are some basic hints and tips for bike safety and security.
Use two different types of high-quality locks (e.g., a D-lock and a heavy-duty chain). Lock the frame and both wheels to a secure, fixed stand. Register your bike with Bike Register. Please contact your local PCSO if you require this doing or attend one of our community events advised on North Yorkshire Police website or on social media Store bikes inside your home if possible. Use ground anchors or wall-mounted anchors, particularly in sheds or garages, to lock bikes securely. Use bright, strong front and rear lights at night. Use reflectors and ensure your brakes and tyres are well-maintained. Choose busy, covered, and well-lit areas to leave your locked bike
