General Update |
||
|
Dear Residents, I wanted to provide you with an update on some of the work I have been undertaking recently in the area.
Shoplifting Southborough Costcutter has unfortunately been the victim of repeated shoplifting over the past month, committed by the same individual. I am pleased to report that, following thorough investigation and persistence, the suspect has now been identified and interviewed in relation to all matters. The final outcome is currently pending.
Tesco Express has also been targeted by an individual. That suspect has now been identified and will be interviewed shortly regarding these offences.
Shoplifting remains an issue nationwide, and regrettably Southborough is no exception. I am determined to address this robustly, as it affects not only retailers but also the confidence and wellbeing of the wider community.
Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) I am pleased to see that more secure fencing has now been installed around the derelict buildings on London Road, Southborough. This should help prevent trespassing on these unsafe sites.
I am also aware that the former High Brooms Working Men’s Club has experienced ongoing issues with trespassers. If you see anyone on these sites who should not be there, please report this to police, as these buildings are extremely dangerous.
Unfortunately, there has also been recent damage to road signs and street lighting in Holly Tree Road, Southborough. Enquiries are currently ongoing. If you have any information that may assist, please contact Kent Police quoting reference 46/63155/26.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
