New partnership working with Shropshire Community Wellbeing Outreach Team. |
Having recently met a member of the Shropshire Community Wellbeing Outreach Team, part of the wider Public Health Services, at a local livestock auction I was invited to speak at meeting with the rest of the team yesterday, who were interested to hear about police engagement with rural communities.
The Team works closely with rural communities and partners to ensure that services are easy to access and meet people’s needs, operating a mobile public health hub offering free health and wellbeing checks to isolated communities across Shropshire. Their work includes talking to residents to understand what matters most, identifying gaps in services and access to health checks in rural communities. The Teams goal is to build a healthy and inclusive community through outreach, sharing of resources, and collaboration with partners.
As a result of the meeting we have agreed a joint working plan where we will be attending events along with the mobile hub staff, and a referral process should either partner identify persons in need during visits to rural locations, giving us the opportunity to increase our engagement with rural communities. | ||
