!!Neighbourhood Policing Commander Update - East Leicester News - May!! |
||
|
This month we have had cause to celebrate St George's day, Nagar Kirtan and Pesach across East Leicester with some superb events involving communities coming together.
This has all been against the backdrop of war in Iran and tragic incidents of terror related violence in London which reiterates our need to engage locally.
Locally we have been targeting the "baddies" with two persons arrested for a number of Burglaries burgling mobile phone shops stealing tens of thousands of pounds of phones!
And so now we continue the preparation working with partners including the Local Independent Advisory Group to ensure that Rathayatra, Diwali and Ganesh (amongst many more) are safe and lawful.
It is these times that we look to ensure that we can all celebrate that I ask that we continue to consider the impact of our actions on others throughout the year and maintain our compassion and tolerance.
I was at court last week following the charge of a male who organised an unlawful procession and it was a shame to see that impact this had necessitated court attendance and he was convicted upon pleading guilty.
Not this year please!
Operation Bend continues across the Scraptoft/Syston and Thurncourt areas led by our local proactive team and it has been brilliant seeing local businesses and communities get involved to help divert those youngsters who were offending and support those who had fallen victim. ASB and crime has reduced significantly.. but we aren't finished yet!
And lastly.. we have not had enough surveys completed (they take 2/3 minutes) to help us understand the confidence in your local police and/or any issues that you have. Please if you have time complete the survey and consider signing up for ongoing communications.
