Increase in Phone Snatching.

There has been increase of phone snatching incidents in the area, multiple incidents are happening at peak times during commuting hours such as 08:00 - 09:30 and 15:30 onwards, as well as evening times targetting inviduals outside of local establishments.

Please stay vigilant when using your mobile phones in public.

Things to look out for:

Individuals on bikes

People loitering near busy pavements

Someone getting unusually close whilst distracted on your phone

Mopeds/e-bikes with two riders

Individuals wearing balaclavas to cover identify and with foil

What we are asking from you:

If you have any information abouts incidents, including possible routes of travel, times, or descriptions of the individuals involved including clothing/bikes. Please get in touch, this will help officers understand where/what time we need to be patrolling those areas and who to look out for.

Crime prevention:

Avoid using your phone in public, in particular near the edge of the pavement or roadside

Keep a firm grip of your device and stay aware of your surroundings

Use hands-free or step into a shop/building if you need to check your phone

Enable tracking apps and security locks on your device.
