Community Message – Antisocial Behaviour in Bartestree🚨

We have received reports from a resident on Hollylea Close, Bartestree, regarding a group of young people (believed to be teenagers) repeatedly knocking on their door and then running away 🚪🏃‍♂️. This behaviour has been ongoing, including late into the evening and the early hours of the morning. Understandably, this can be upsetting and frightening for those on the receiving end.

We’d like to remind everyone that this type of behaviour is classed as antisocial behaviour (ASB) and will not be tolerated. While some may see this as a “joke,” it can have a real impact on residents, particularly those who may feel vulnerable or targeted.

Young people involved in ASB can face a range of consequences, including:

Being spoken to by police, with parents or carers informed 👨‍👩‍👧

Community Resolution – an out-of-court outcome for low-level offences which is recorded on police systems and can be taken into account if further incidents occur 📝

Acceptable Behaviour Agreements (ABAs) setting clear expectations for future conduct

Escalation to formal action if the behaviour continues

Advice for residents:

Ensure doors and windows are secure, especially at night

Consider using CCTV or doorbell cameras where possible

Avoid engaging directly, report incidents to us online.

If behaviour is ongoing or escalates, call police via 101 (or 999 in an emergency)

We will continue to monitor this and take appropriate action.
