Dear Residents,
Cannock Police want to make you aware of a theft of a motorbike from outside Heron Foods, Pye Green Road, Cannock, at approximately 16:45hrs on Wednesday 6th May 2026.
The male offender arrived at the location on a pushbike before stealing the motorbike and leaving the area.
The stolen vehicle was later located in Lovatt Place, Chadsmoor, Cannock. Officers subsequently located and arrested a male in connection with the incident, who currently remains in police custody.
We would like to remind residents that there has recently been an increase in motorbike thefts across the Cannock and Rugeley areas. We are asking members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour, individuals or vehicles to police.
Motorbike owners are encouraged to take additional steps to protect their vehicles, including:
- Never leaving keys in the motorbike, even for a short period of time. - Always remove the keys and securing the steering lock. - Using a high-quality disc lock, chain and ground anchor where possible. - Parking in well-lit, secure or CCTV-covered locations. - Installing a tracking device or alarm system. - Covering the motorbike when parked to make it less attractive to thieves.
Anyone with information regarding suspicious activity or vehicle thefts is asked to contact Staffordshire Police via 101, online, or call 999 in an emergency if a crime is in progress.
