Moped Crime

Good Evening, PC Adams here, your new Littleborough and Milnrow NBO. Its a new week, which means more proactive policing targetting the concerns raised by residents in the area. I am aware of the current issues of off road bikes, illegal mopeds and electric bikes causing issues around Newhey. 

Today 11th May 2026, PC Adams has been on routine patrol covering the Huddersfield Road area of Newhey when he has sighted a orange dirtbike and also a black moped. PC Adams has requested these vehicles to stop to which they havent. PC Adams has then pursued these bikes however, both unfortunately went off road and PC Adams was unable to follow. 

PC Adams then picks these vehicles back up in the Smith Hill Estate and manages to detain and recover the black moped which is an outstanding stolen moped. Immediate enquires have identified the driver and further information has come to light in relation to the other outstanding bikes which are causing issues across Newhey and Milnrow. 

Be aware that we take issues raised seriously and we wont stop until we target these criminals driving illegally and causing havoc for our community.
