Dear Resident, Detectives are appealing for a dog walker who may have witnessed an assault in Welwyn Garden City over the weekend to come forward. Shortly before 3.30pm on Saturday 9 May, a man aged in his 30s was reportedly assaulted near a disused pub on Beehive Lane. Thankfully, no injuries were sustained. A 16-year-old boy from the town was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released on bail pending further enquiries. Detective Constable Georgie Crerar, from the Case Investigation Team, said: “Our investigation is ongoing and I am appealing for anyone with information to come forward. “We understand a dog walker may have witnessed what happened and are yet to speak to police. If this is you, or you saw what took place, please email me via Georgie.Crerar@herts.police.uk.” You can also report information online, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting 41/42956/26. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form.
