Building a Safer Community: Digital Safety, Drug Action, and Mental Health Matters |

After some annual leave and unfortunately some sickness I have been back into it this week.
I started the week with a rough sleeper meeting with council. The council have a brilliant team that works with rough sleepers, they get to know them support them and help get them off the streets. Our team at Oldington, Foley and Sutton Park don’t have as much to do with them as Kidderminster town centre but will still have a few at times that we can refer across or assist with.
I have conducted an education visit with a child about indecent images. If you have any issues or concerns with a child and their use of the internet, feel free to get in touch about advice. Some useful links: Keep Children Safe Online: Information, advice, support - Internet Matters
I have also been part of a large planned event where multiple address have been visited simultaneously. This utilised staff from Proactive CID and IOM from Kidderminster and Worcester, CE Team, SOCU, SNT Kidderminster and Redditch, Intel, DMI and the dog section. West Mercia is committed to keeping Kidderminster a safe place! During this event four people were arrested and seized items included a large quantity of drugs, offensive weapons and cash.
I have also been conducting some patrols around our patch and making visits where needed.
This week is Mental health Awareness week, so I wish you all well and ask you to think about your own mental health, do something you enjoy and spend some time outside. (This week if you are outside, you will need shorts, sun cream, umbrella and somewhere to shade from the hail). Here is some helpful advice.
I will see you all next week on TUESDAY 19TH MAY 2026. I will leave you with some facts of the week. Have a great weekend.
