W/C May 18th 2026 will mark the start of the National Knife Crime Awareness Week, Sceptre Sceptre operates at both national and local levels, aligning with national priorities while remaining firmly rooted in local intelligence and community needs. Its core aim is simple but vital: to reduce knife crime and prevent people from being harmed. Assistant Chief Constable Stasia Osiowy said: “Behind every knife crime statistic is a person whose life could be changed forever. Reducing harm isn’t a target on a spreadsheet – it’s a responsibility we all share, and one we must take personally, every single day.” To strengthen this work further, the force has secured new Home Office grant funding through the Knife Crime Concentrations Fund. This problem-solving approach will use a broad range of tactics, including… Partnership working with local authorities, education, health and youth services The way we tackle knife crime is evolving. We are actively adopting best practice, learning from other forces and applying lessons from serious incidents that have sadly occurred here in Lancashire. This is not just about enforcement – it is about understanding why knife crime happens and doing everything we can to prevent it from happening again.
