Community Safety Update – Blondin Park Incidents

Dear Northfield Residents,

We want to make you aware of recent incidents in and around Blondin Park involving the robbery and attempted robbery of mobile phones. While these incidents are concerning, we as local officers will ensure increased patrols to keep the area as safe as possible.

In the meantime, we ask everyone to remain vigilant and take a few simple precautions to reduce the risk of becoming a target:

Personal Safety Advice

Stay aware of your surroundings – avoid distractions such as using your phone while walking, especially in quieter areas.

Keep valuables out of sight – if possible, avoid openly displaying phones or other expensive items.

Plan your route – use well-lit, busier paths where possible, particularly during early morning or evening hours.

Trust your instincts – if something doesn’t feel right, leave the area and seek a safe place.

Avoid confrontations – if approached, your safety is the priority. Do not resist.

Additional Measures

Consider walking with others where possible.

Ensure children and young people are aware of these risks and safety tips.

Make a note of your IMEI Number found on each phone by dialling *#06#

Turn on phone tracking applications such as FIND MY app and FIND HUB

Report any suspicious behaviour immediately via 101, or call 999 in an emergency.
