Local Priorities - Burglary (Shed Breaks)

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Burglary - Other (Shed / Garage Break-ins), which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

We are aware of a report regarding a shed break in the Cefn Road area of Rogerstone. Officers are conducting enquiries in the area to assist with on-going investigations. We encourage anyone with information or CCTV footage on this incident to contact us. Your information and vigilance play a key role in assisting our investigations. Our teams are actively patrolling and engaging with residents to reduce and deter criminal activity.

- Fit a good lock, bolted through the door and reinforced at the back with a steel plate.
- The hasp and hinges should have concealed screws, security screws or coach bolts.
- Photograph valuable garden equipment or ornaments.
- Consider installing CCTV or video doorbells that cover your shed area.
- Consider installing movement sensitive security lights.
- Report any suspicious behaviour immediately; your call could prevent a crime or help us catch an offender in the act.
- Sign up to a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in your local area.
