Local Priorities Anti Social Behaviour Message |
||
|
Please review the following update regarding Anti Social Behaviour which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. Inspector Weeden is pleased to let you know that a male has pleaded guilty to possession of Class C substances, and a Breach of a Community Protection Order at Romford Magistrates Court on 8th May 2026, receiving £213 penalty, led by the local Chadwell Heath Neighbourhood Policing Team. This follows a patrol by the team on the 14th April 2026 which resulted on the team finding Mr Muhammed Khan, 31 yrs found to breach a Community Protection Order originally from March 2026. The local Neighbourhood Policing Team had received high number of complaints from residents on the ward regarding Mr Khan's anti-social behaviour, late at night, including driving his car in an anti-social manner, loud music, unnecessary use of car horn use of nitrous oxide in the vicinity. This had led to causing local residents a great deal of distress and concern and as a result of high number of public and community complaints, police acted engaging the male and gradually issuing a Community Protection Notice to Mr Khan. The team are working on a number of other cases currently with local authority in relation to criminal behaviour orders, cuckooing incidents targeting vulnerable victims, and developing further work to apply for closure orders partial and full within Chadwell Heath are ongoing. The team take a community focused and intelligence led approach, taking anti-social issues seriously. This is just one of many incidents which highlight Neighbourhood Policing Teams approach. Good work and a positive outcome locally due to good use of anti-social behaviour legislation. Antisocial behaviour can come in many forms and can require support from more organisations than just the police. There are 13 different types of antisocial behaviour that we may be able to help with, including abandoned vehicles, littering or drugs paraphernalia and street drinking. A full list of what we categorise as antisocial behaviour is available on our website.
