Stolen Ride-On Mower Recovered Following Joint Partnership Work

Good evening Resident,

On Monday 18th May 2026, information was received from a partner agency regarding a suspected stolen ride-on mower that had been sighted at a fixed location.

I attended the location promptly and successfully located the mower. Checks were carried out, confirming that it had been reported stolen a few days prior. The vehicle has now been recovered and arrangements are in place for it to be returned to its rightful owner.

This recovery highlights the importance of partnership working and the sharing of information, which enables us to take swift action and achieve positive outcomes.

Secure Your Vehicles

• Always lock vans and remove tools overnight where possible
• Park in well-lit areas or against a wall/garage to restrict access
• Consider additional security such as deadlocks, slam locks, and steering wheel locks
• Install CCTV or video doorbells to act as a deterrent

Mark & Record Your Tools

• Mark tools with your postcode and company name using UV pens or engraving
• Register serial numbers and photograph your tools
• Use property marking schemes such as Immobilise (free national database)

Improve Storage Security

• Fit strong locks and alarms to sheds and garages
• Use anchor points or chains to secure larger equipment
• Avoid leaving tools on display or visible through windows

Be Aware & Report Suspicious Activity

• Look out for unfamiliar vehicles or persons targeting vans or properties
• Report suspicious behaviour immediately via 999 (in an emergency) or 101
• Share information within local trade and community groups
