A Day of Two Halves

Officers from Maidstone Community Safety Unit, including PCSO Boyd and myself, spent the first half of the day attending the 2026 Dementia Conference. This provided a valuable opportunity to network with partner agencies and organisations, helping to strengthen the support and services we offer to those in our community living with dementia.

In the second half of the day, we resumed our patrols and located an abandoned vehicle containing a large quantity of meat, alcohol, and other food items, many still in shopping baskets, suspected to have been shoplifted. Prior to seizing the vehicle, a search of the boot was carried out, where we discovered a malnourished dog. The dog has since been safeguarded and placed in a secure location, where it will receive the care and attention it needs.
