Keeping Our Neighbourhoods Safe During Knife Crime Awareness Week |
It’s Knife Crime Awareness Week, and your local officers have been out in the community as part of Operation Sceptre, carrying out proactive work to tackle knife crime and keep our neighbourhoods safe. Over recent days, officers have conducted a number of targeted operations which have resulted in multiple arrests, alongside ongoing enforcement activity aimed at disrupting those involved in knife crime. We are continuing to focus on key areas to make a real difference: 🔹 Supporting local businesses – Officers are visiting retailers to provide guidance around responsible sales and carrying out test purchasing to prevent knives falling into the wrong hands. 🔹 Keeping public spaces safe – You may see officers conducting weapon sweeps in parks and open spaces to remove dangerous items and keep these areas safe for everyone. 🔹 Working with partners – We are working closely with schools, youth services and local authorities to ensure young people have the support, education and opportunities they need to stay safe. Knife crime impacts everyone. Our work is not just about finding weapons – it’s about protecting the people who live and work in our community. How you can help: ▪️ Speak up anonymously – If you have information about knife crime but don’t want to speak directly to police, contact Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111 or visit: https://www.crimestoppers-uk.org/ ▪️ Use a knife amnesty bin – Dispose of knives safely and anonymously: https://www.word4weapons.co.uk/knife-bin-locations/
• Schools & professionals: Together, we can continue to make Ealing safer.
