Edenthorpe / Kirk Sandall - Rainy day were on our way!

Despite the wet weather, East Neighbourhood officers joined staff, parents and pupils as part of the 'Walk to School Week'. 

The walk started from Aldi, Doncaster Road up to Kirk Sandall Infants School. The children were very excited to see Police,  and the Walk to School week mascot Strider, on their walk to school. 

Officers then joined students in the classroom for more engagement, activities and questions about what the Police do in their community.

This is a fantastic innovative way to get parents and children walking to school. The health benefits of walking to school are huge and the knock on effect it can have in community is clear to see.

School Parking remains an issue often raised at our Community Engagement Meetings.

If you have the time and walking is a practical option then please do take the opportunity to do so.

It was a close call who was more popular, the walk to school mascot strider or the Police Officers, but i think we just edged it on this occasion!
