Local Priorities Mobile phone theft Concern Update - Snatches on Buses

I wanted to provide an update regarding Mobile phone theft, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Police have arrested a male suspected of carrying out a series of phone snatches on local buses following an extensive investigation. Officers reviewed significant amounts of CCTV footage and gathered evidence which led to the identification of the suspect, believed to be responsible for numerous thefts targeting bus passengers.

This morning, officers executed a court warrant at the suspect’s home address, where he was arrested without incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
