Monthly community update from Pembrokeshire Roads Policing Sgt Carwyn Griffiths - April 2026

Hello everyone

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share a quick round up of the work that your local Roads Policing Unit have been doing in your area, what's coming up and how we are working with partners to keep our roads safe for those living, working and visiting Pembrokeshire

From what our communities have told us we have been focusing on:

· Priority 1 - Speeding Concerns: B4320 Hundleton

· Priority 2 - Anti-Social Driving/ E-Scooters: Haven Drive, Hakin

· Priority 3 - Speeding Concerns & Anti-Social Driving: Morrisons Car Park Haverfordwest/A40 to Ridgeway Garage

To effectively tackle these issues we have been working with:

The Neighbourhood Policing & Prevention Team (NPPT)

· Pembrokeshire Response Policing Team

· Dyfed Powys Police Schools Liaison Team

· Local Authority Road Safety Team

These collaborations are helping us respond more effectively and holistically to community needs.

· Conducted a significant number of targeted patrols in the areas of concern you have highlighted to us.

· Dealt with more than 130 Road Traffic Offences (including Speeding, Mobile Phone Use & Careless & Dangerous Driving)

· Made 28 arrests for Drink & Drug Driving Offences

. Held engagement events with Pembrokeshire college.

This coming month we will continue to target the issues affecting our communities by supporting the following:

National Campaigns / Weeks / Days of action etc..

· Operation Spotlight (Targeting the Fatal 4 Road Traffic Offences: speeding, drink / drug driving / mobile phone use & no seatbelts).

· Operation Apex (Reducing the risks for Vulnerable Road Users such as Motorcyclists & Cyclists)

· E-Bike & E-Scooters (Targeting Illegal and Anti-Social use of E-Bikes & E-Scooters)
