Officers in attendance - Hull City parade |
||
|
Today, (Monday, 25 May 2026) officers will be supporting the Hull City parade following their incredible win in the championship play off final to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time. The bus parade will start in the area of Ferensway at 3pm and is due to arrive at approximately 4pm at Paragon Street. Speaking ahead of the event, Superintendent William Jenkins said: "We are proud to be a part of this event, and we are looking forward to supporting Hull City Council and other partners to ensure fans can enjoy the celebrations safely. “During and following the parade, officers will be patrolling Hull City Centre throughout the evening to ensure everyone can continue to stay safe and enjoy the event. “Road closures have been put in place by Hull City Council to allow the parade to take place safely. This will likely cause some disruption to other local traffic and public transport routes so we would encourage everyone to plan their journey in advance. "This is a wonderful day for the city, and we will be out to support our partners enabling people to enjoy the parade and post-parade gatherings by disrupting crime and dealing with those who may seek to harm others. “I want to make it clear that those who come and commit crime or antisocial behaviour will be dealt with robustly by our teams to ensure that everyone else enjoys their time at the parade. “If you have any concerns about anything you see, please come and speak to a steward or any of the police officers who will be patrolling in and around the area.” You can also get in touch by calling our non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. If someone is in immediate danger or there is a crime in progress call 999. We hope everyone enjoys the celebrations today and if you are attending the parade, please see some safety advice below: • Leave any valuables such as jewellery at home. Only take with you what you absolutely need. • Agree on a pre-arranged meeting place should you become separated from friends or family. • Consider wearing clothes that have pockets with zips to keep your money and mobile phones secure – crowds tend to draw thieves. • If you are taking small children, take a photo of them beforehand so we can see exactly what they are wearing should they go missing. • Write your contact details on a piece of paper and put it in the pocket of the children that you are taking so we can get in touch if we find them.
