Junior Citizen 2026

Last week, Rick helped launch this year’s Barking and Dagenham Council-led Junior Citizen initiative aimed at giving Year 6 children the tools to “keep safe in everyday life.”

From saving water with Thames Water to saving lives with the London Ambulance Service, the Metropolitan Police Service were also joined by Transport for London, Subwize, the London Fire Brigade and Vandome Cycles for tips and advice.

Awareness around knives was once again the theme this year, with officers from Barking and Dagenham Police's Safer Neighbourhoods discussing the law around bladed and sharply-pointed items in public places, including schools, before a game putting that knowledge into practice.

After taking part in 3 days across the opening week, Rick has several more dates coming up in the fortnight following the half-term hiatus.
