Local News - Morden ward cluster |

|
Afternoon everyone. Hope you're all ok in this heat! We are not, as our met vests are not beach ready attire. 🚨Did you know that they weigh 2 stone? It's the metal inserts!
On to the local news. It seems like neighbour disputes have been high on the agenda with us stepping in between waring neighbours. It's good to do, because sorting out the small things stops the bigger flare ups. We've also been dealing with some of our hotspots, drugs in carparks, dodgy looking people down our nice roads, and generally being all over the shop stopping things before they happen. It's like we're team tom cruise from minority report. Not really any arrests we can report on at the minute, as they're all in the “not media ready” stage. 🚨Did you know that we can only say certain things at the different stages of investigation? It's not because we don't want to, (we love singing our own praises), it's because saying too much too early can mess up court cases!
Events! We have some coming up! on the 30th and 31st we'll be in Morden Hall park signing people up for Met Engage (we're still lacking in numbers, see below) 30th - Café near the car park 31st - Stable yard café Come along and meet some of the team!
New members! If you know someone that isn't on Met Engage, please do send them our way. Email the below to me and I'll even fill it out for you!
In the meantime, please fill out the survey because we do read them!
Thanks and have a lovely day!
Dave and the team.
P.S as you've got this far, here's a weird police law that's quite amusing. It has been illegal to shake or beat a carpet rug in the streets of the Metropolitan Police District since 1839. An old 19th-century law banned the beating of carpets during the day time in London. The ancient Metropolitan Police Act claims responsibility for this oddball law in England.
