Shorne Woods Country Park

On Wednesday 27 May 2026, officers attended the Open Day at Shorne Woods Country Park in Gravesend.

It was a fantastic day engaging with hundreds of children and families from the local community. Young visitors especially enjoyed trying on police uniform, sitting in a police car and activating the emergency lights, as well as exploring the rear of a police van.

We were also pleased to be joined by Kent Search and Rescue, who spoke with visitors about their vital work and further added to the day’s community engagement.

The event, organised by the park, offered a wide range of activities for all ages. These included meeting the Ranger team, pond dipping with the education staff, craft activities, exploring archaeological finds, and even climbing aboard a real tractor.

The day provided a valuable opportunity for officers to connect with local residents in a relaxed environment while families enjoyed a fun and informative experience outdoors.
