Patrol Incident – Vehicle Seizure / Road Safety This afternoon, whilst on patrol, officers came across a motorbike being ridden by two males. Checks confirmed that the rider only held a provisional licence, and the passenger was not wearing a helmet. Further enquiries established that the vehicle was not insured, and it was subsequently seized. This incident highlights the importance of complying with road traffic legislation. Riding without the correct licence, carrying a passenger unlawfully, and failing to wear appropriate safety equipment significantly increases the risk of serious injury or fatality in the event of a collision. Driving or riding without insurance also places other road users at financial risk and will result in enforcement action. Officers will continue to take a proactive approach to road safety and deal with offences where identified to help keep our communities safe.
