Neighbourhood Update

Hello Resident, I hope you are doing well. It’s PCSO Priest here with the weekly Neighbourhood update.

What has our team been doing?

 Officers of the Bartley Green Neighbourhood team have also been helping our colleges from across the force, by taking over crime scenes. Giving our other colleges a much needed refreshment break before coming back and taking the scene back over.

Our Bartley Green Neighbourhood team have been attending stores within the area to speak to staff and security to see how things have been and to give reassurance, advice and an insight into what the neighbourhood team are doing to tackle retail crime.

What’s been occurring in Bartley Green

Since the last WMNOW message, we have received two thefts from a motor vehicle within the area of Bartley Green. We advise you to take out any valuables such as your wallets or bags etc, to limit the amount of lost property you may lose. We also advise you to take out any plastic carrier bags from your vehicle, as offenders will think there is something of value within the bag and will attempt to steal it.

Since the last WMNOW message, we have received three thefts of a motor vehicle. We advise you to install CCTV cameras as this can help record any offences and give officers an insight as to when the offence took place and which way the offender went. As well as potentially being able to name the offender or at the very least get a picture of their face. We also advise that you make sure your vehicle is locked and secured and is tucked away in a garage, behind a gate, or behind something that the offenders will not be able to move.

We encourage residents to register their home/business CCTV and doorbell cameras, as this helps us to solve crimes and get a positive outcome, as your CCTV cameras can provide us the appropriate footage what captures the crime in question. This helps us solves crimes but also helps to keep your community safer.
