DRUG DEALER JAILED |
||
|
A drug dealer, who was arrested as he got off a flight from Dubai, has been jailed for supplying class A drugs in Tamworth. Zain Alishan, 28, from Birmingham, appeared at Stafford Crown Court on Tuesday (26 May), where he was sentenced to two-years-and-nine-months in prison after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin between September 2024 and January last year. The drug line he controlled made around £15,000 from the sale of drugs during that period. Alishan was arrested at Birmingham Airport on Friday 6 February this year. It followed an investigation by officers from our major and organised crime proactive team into the Staffordshire drug line known as the ‘Bobby’ line. Alishan flew to Dubai following the arrest of a friend. Through Operation Target, we have been disrupting and pursuing criminals who plan, organise and commit serious criminal offences across the county, including drug supply, illegal firearms, knife crime, human trafficking and sexual exploitation. We’re working hard each and every day to tackle these groups proactively, protect those who are being exploited by them and to gather intelligence to bring a stop to major criminal networks across our area.
